as for me, I don't know yet.
Looks like it's good for a giggle, but:

- why do I have to start the game using a browser?
having to wait for an huge flash-based site to load and then log in to EAs website = blx.
- I hate the fact that you have to play on a (random?) EA public server
no, an add-a-friend button does not build communities
- controls are to tele-tubbish.
hell, you can't even crash a plane it just bumps off the ground
- you can't switch characters on the fly
afaik
- the add-on options overkill. yes I'm aware it's a free game but things like these are plain silly: my favourite FAQ item btw
and no, I'm not keen on playing in my panties...

Well, I haven't played it. I did follow the news concerning BF Heroes, watched the screenshots. I must agree with you Mal, I think it is fun for a gigle. I don't think I will even try playing it in the next few months.

Not sure what to think. I have a lot of the same complains as mal.
Maybe if the community could have their own servers. Got bored kinda quick.

it's not bad.
I've played a couple of rounds now and quite enjoyed it. (as much as you can enjoy a pub server that is)
The "vehicle maps" (can be set in your preferences) can be quite fun. I could even live with the idea of paying for a customozed character. But the lack of server files spoils it all. A salesman POV idea of community really. a shame.

...played a bit more late last night, i guess it's growing on me. dont like the auto assign server bs and the web interface is bs. but if you dont want to wait for experience, why not buy it?? lols...pfff

yeah the "play now" is the only way to join a (random) server afaik.
You obviously can't choose a server from the browser window. *hehe*
needless to say the server browser is ... well, not working ...yet.

just a note chose the royal army any of those that are still to create a player as you cant swap once you choose.

Its good fun for a jump on and play for an hour type game

(you can't change a character's team once it's created)

btw you can choose what "kind" of maps you prefer.
I've noticed if you choose "Vehicle" you only join servers playing "Seaside Skirmish" and "Buccaneer Bay" which seem to be the vehicle maps.

I like seaside. lots of tanks and planes and everything. buccaneer's also nice.
Victory Village I find rather boring. And I've no idea what the 4th maps is like: Coastal Clash. never ever been able t ojoin that one. with or without vehicle settings.

I dont seem to be on the group list mal - I'm a member (lol not in the literal sense) as I can leave but I don't appear on the members page?

hmm... it could be their cache.
I think it's updated just once every 24h. I do see you in the edit-group list.
